How to plan and prepareFire Danger Ratings
* Total Fire Bans may be imposed at Extreme or Catastrophic ratings, and are published between 4:30-5:00 pm the day before.

- Fire Danger Ratings are published between 4:30-5:00 pm daily during the fire season. These ratings are determined in conjunction with the Bureau of Meteorology.
- Fire Danger Ratings and Total Fire Ban information for days 2, 3 and 4 are preliminary forecasts and should be used as a guide only. These ratings may change based on both weather and non-weather related factors.
- Total Fire Bans may be declared in some Fire Ban Districts or across the whole state on days when high temperatures, strong winds and low humidity could cause fires to become uncontrollable.
